DESCRIPTION:2023-07-01 08:00 - 2023-07-08 20:00\n\n\nSummer School | WaterS
capes in Heritage and Environment\n\n\n\n\nWHY\n\n\nWATERSCAPES brings tog
ether\, in the same practical and ideal framework\, cultural heritage and
environmental preservation. The main actors involved with the use of these
pillar concepts are local communities\, who maintain with heritage and en
vironment the deepest relation\, as these represent their familiar context
s\, the premises and background for their sustainable living.\n\n\nHOWThe
core idea of the Summer School is learning in a cooperative way while shar
ing limited resources. In the context of the Anthropocene we learn that al
l fundamental resources are limited\, and they need to be managed carefull
 y. On the boat\, water and space are limited resources\, so the first dida
ctic goal is their virtuous and careful sharing.\n\n\nWHATThe Summer Schoo
l focuses on Water. Water is the connecting medium\, the material link amo
ng communities and places\, across history and today. Water belongs to eve
rybody\, it is alive in its motions and transformations. Water connects he
ritage sites and environmental emergencies. Water requires that any action
is collective\, shared\, fluid\, and global. The Water we intend is not o
nly a natural resource\, but also a socio-cultural construct. We decide to
rename our methodology\, from the classical fieldwork approach into a new
water-work approach.\n\n\nWHEREOur boat is our working space. The living
and working spac eshared by the community for a week invites a deep reflec
tion on the sustainability of maritime life and draws attention to distrib
uted responsibility .Our gaze is on theC roatian costs as perfect examples
of Anthropocene complexity: here identity\, history\, shared territories
and heritage clash against borderosv\, erexploitation\, regulations and sc
arcity.\n\n\nThe Summer School's strength is a deep interaction among acad
emics\, students and local communities who provides a rich data set to rea
 d the places in a commonly developed perspective.\n\n\n \n\n\nCONTENTS\n\n
