In this lecture, we will look at how Goethe's studies of nature and the world have been received in Europe, America, and Japan, while outlining the significance and potential of Goethean morphology in today's civilization. We will also introduce how Goethe's work, which often ventured into non-European modes of thinking, has been embraced in Japan in East Asia and the scholarly and cultural contributions it is generating.
