The Humanities Library supports teaching and research across the campus departments, offering collections that reflect the diversity of linguistic and literary fields. Of particular importance are the sections dedicated to the languages and literatures taught within our Department.
The bibliographic holdings include more than 155,000 volumes—books and journal series—and 470 subscribed periodicals, of which 250 are available in electronic format.
Open-shelf collections can be accessed in the reading rooms of the Chiostro Maggiore and Chiostro Minore in Sant’Agostino, which provide 201 study stations equipped with data connections and power points. Additional collections are housed in the storage facilities of the same complex.
Pignolo hosts the Fondazione Alasca Library, a nationally significant documentation centre for film studies, with specialist collections and a reading room offering 20 stations.
Completing the library’s resources are electronic holdings, accessible through the BiGsearch portal, which include more than 350,000 eBooks, thousands of international scholarly journals, encyclopaedias, dictionaries, and bibliographic and textual databases—all supporting study and research in the fields of languages and the humanities.
