This event aims to discuss the similarities, differences and mutual influences in the language of leisure and entertainment from the early 18th century to the early 20th century. While part of the event will focus on English-speaking areas, a multilingual approach will also be taken into account, in order to highlight the intercultural dimension of different phenomena.
The proceedings will comprise a series of ‘dialogues’, in which Italian and international scholars will discuss key issues. While each section features at least two main participants, all the delegates are invited to contribute with comments and questions.
