This hybrid event aims to celebrate the publication of Shakespeare’s First Folio in 1623 through a collective debate on how Early Modern English has had an impact on the development of English well into contemporaneity. To that end, a series of ‘dialogues’ are presented, in which Italian and international scholars discuss key issues. While each ‘dialogue’ features two main participants, all the delegates are invited to contribute with comments and questions.
Registration fee: none, but please make your own arrangements for travel, accommodation and meals.
The event is open to anyone with an interest in the history of English. Teachers and students are especially welcome. Participants may request the issue of a certificate of attendance for one or both days. The certificate will be issued in the week after the event.
While in-person participation is recommended, online attendance via Teams is possible. Sessions will not be recorded.
Please follow this link to register for the event (and request your certificate of attendance if applicable).
