Groups and topics

Research areas

The Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures hosts several research groups that bring together professors, researchers, and collaborators from the University of Bergamo, other Italian universities, and foreign universities and research centres.

These groups share a strongly interdisciplinary, comparative, and international approach, reflecting the distinctive features of the research promoted by the Department.

Alongside these departmental groups, many faculty members also participate in University Centres (CLA, CYFE, Cisalpino, CST, etc.).

Research topics (IT)

The Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures operates primarily in the fields of literary, linguistic, philological and foreign language disciplines (Area 10) through research activities carried out in collaboration with national and international institutions. The composition of the Department, which also benefits from the contribution of faculty members in historical, geographical, anthropological, social (Area 11), and computer science disciplines (Area 9), makes it possible to conduct interdisciplinary research with significant impacts on teaching and on engagement with the local community.

The members of the Department are increasingly active in promoting and participating in other large-scale national and international projects funded through competitive calls.
