Educational workshops (Master's Degree Courses)

What is an educational workshop?

Educational workshops are a specific training activity offered by the Department's Master's Degree Courses (LM). They are characterised by their emphasis on practical activity and therefore aim to convey "know how" that integrates and qualifies the training process, constituting an ideal bridge between the theoretical-methodological knowledge offered in the courses and the professional practice for which the student is prepared. They therefore have the following characteristics:

  • they are only open to a limited number of students
  • attendance is compulsory so students may not be absent for more than 25% of the workshop hours
  • they require the active participation of the student.

For the academic year 2023-2024, the Department offers a total of 15 educational workshops, offered by the Master's Degree Courses (GEOU, ISLLI, LMCCI, PMTS, TSCE).

Participation in educational workshop enables the student to acquire an aptitude corresponding to the number of credits laid down in the Study Plan for his or her course of study.

All students may enrol in the workshops. Enrolment takes place, depending on the Degree Course, either by sending the application form to the e-mail address of the Degree Course contact person, indicated in the Contact section on the right-hand side of this web page, or by filling in the form indicated on the Degree Course website (see details in the following paragraph "When and how to enrol").

Depending on the study plan of one's own course of study, the credits obtained may count towards the CFUs required to complete one's course of study, or they may be approved by the Course Councils as supernumerary activities if the maximum CFUs for laboratory activities have already been reached.

Which educational workshops to choose

For the academic year 2023-2024, the main information on the educational workshops included in the Department's teaching offer is summarised in the Overview Table, which shows the course of study, qualification, lecturers, sub-period, available places, any specific requirements and other useful information for students to help them make their choice.

Information on the content and organisation of each Educational Workshop can be found on the pages dedicated to each one.

When and how educational workshops take place

The Educational Workshops take place in sub-periods II, III and IV. Please refer to the Overview Table for an overview.
Each Educational Workshop includes theoretical lessons and meetings of a more practical nature depending on the specific field of activity.
The detailed timetable for each Educational Workshop is published by the beginning of the sub-period in which it takes place.

When and how to enrol

Enrolment in the Teaching Workshops for the academic year 2022-2023 takes place, depending on the degree course, either by sending the application form to the e-mail address of the lecturer responsible for the degree course, indicated in the Contact section on the right-hand side of this web page, or by filling in the form indicated on the degree course mini-site (this is the case for ISLLI and PMTS).

It will be possible to enrol from 30 September 2022 to 21 October 2022. In the case of ISLII, it will be possible to enrol until 07/11.

On the form, the student must indicate whether he/she is interested in attending the Educational Workshop:

  • as a standard activity
  • as an extracurricular activity
  • as a listener (i.e. without recognition of eligibility) if the teaching methods allow it.

If you wish to take part in more than one educational workshop in accordance with your course of study, you must complete a form for each one and send it to the lecturer responsible for the chosen educational workshop. Students are advised to take the utmost care when filling in the form. Incomplete or false declarations regarding the requirements will result in exclusion from the Educational Workshop enrolment procedure.
The allocation of the places available for each Educational Workshop is made on the basis of the chronological order of arrival of e-mails, availability of places and verification of the general requirements and any specific requirements declared.
In the event of withdrawal, please communicate it promptly to the e-mail address of the contact lecturer for the Educational Workshops of the degree course for which you have applied, indicated below. It should be noted that, in the case of conditional enrolment in the second cycle degree course, for those who attend the chosen teaching workshop but do not obtain their degree by March 2022, it will not be possible to recognise the credits accrued.

How credits are registered

Once the Educational Workshop has been completed, the Workshop contact person sends the list of eligible students to the Department office to enable registration of the credits acquired. This list will be published in the section dedicated to each Educational Workshop.
