Research areas

The Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures operates mainly in the field of literary, linguistic, philological and foreign language disciplines (Area 10) through research activities in collaboration with national and international institutions. The composition of the Department, which also avails itself of the contribution of lecturers in historical, geographical, anthropological and social disciplines (Area 11) and computer science (Area 9), allows research of an interdisciplinary nature to be carried out, with important repercussions in the educational sphere and in its interaction with the territory.

Members of the Department are also increasingly involved in promoting and participating in other large-scale national and international projects on competitive calls for proposals. These include, most recently:

  • Dissemination of knowledge through English-language media: continuity and change in discursive strategies, ideologies, and epistemologies (Ministry-funded)
  • "WATHERMINES - Interpreting European Industrial Heritage"
Erasmus+ Project: Cooperation Partnership in Higher Education
  • Human Capacity Building for the Water Sector of Central Asia to Strengthen Resilience to Climate Change and Support Sustainable Development, Peace and Security (HCWCA). Erasmus+ Project: Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE)
  • "CHANGES - Cultural Heritage Active Innovation for Sustainable Society'. NRRP Project - PE5 Extended Partnership
