The Department's public engagement activities consist mainly of:
popular publications and events on topics such as language differences and varieties, human mobility, literary knowledge, civic education, socially relevant phenomena
participation of lecturers in local, national or international radio and television broadcasts
participation in public meetings organised by other parties (libraries, archives, museums, associations)
organisation of cycles of informative cultural meetings (conferences, presentation of publications, series of readings)
organisation of concerts, exhibitions and other events of public interest
initiatives in collaboration with local and national authorities aimed at urban development or promoting knowledge and appreciation of the territory
