This section presents the activities of the PhD programmes activated on the themes of the Department of Excellence project: Digital Humanities and Specialised and Literary Translation Studies.
The PhD programme in Language Sciences includes teaching and research activities that also fall within the two macro-themes of the five-year Department of Excellence project. In particular, the programme includes a special course, Corpora and Computational Linguistics, taught by lecturers from partner universities and experts from other Italian and foreign universities. Translation Studies topics are addressed from a linguistic and cultural-historical perspective, also with the aid of digital tools.

In the planning of the Doctorate in Transcultural Humanities course for the 2018-2019 academic year, several teaching activities with important connections to the themes characterising the Department of Excellence project were included.
In particular, topics concerning translation practices are discussed, with special lectures in the second semester module (entitled Translations and Transcultural Mediations). Some topics in the first module on Transnational and Global Studies also certainly come under the project, as the concept of translation is addressed not only as an interlinguistic operation, but also as an intercultural dialogue.
