Internationalisation

The Department of Excellence promotes numerous international activities by collaborating with foreign universities and through agreements for teaching activities and double degree courses. In addition, several lecturers participate in international research projects, including the European Erasmus+ K2 projects.

E-CUL-TOURS

"E-CUL-TOURS: Managing Cultural Heritage in Tourism" is a strategic partnership that addresses the topic of cultural heritage in tourism degree courses.

The project has a cross-sectoral approach and involves EUFRAK-EuroConsults Berlin GmbH (Germany) and four universities (University of Bergamo; Fachhoschule Stralsund (Germany); Dalarna University (Sweden); University of Aveiro (Portugal) and the European Projects Association (Belgium).

The aim of the project is to improve the employability of students through the development of new skills. The project envisages the activation of specific teaching modules characterised by the use of peer-learning approaches, including e-learning courses, interactive seminars (webinars), mixed mobility, as well as the presentation of case studies in real working contexts, also thanks to the active involvement of professionals and stakeholders, to foster a better understanding of the heterogeneity of tourism contexts and to develop an entrepreneurial approach.

On 25 October 2018 the University of Bergamo hosted the conference Multiplier Event Scattered Heritage across Digital Humanities, while from 18 to 22 October 2019 it hosted the event Erasmus+ Programme E-CUL-TOURS: Managing Cultural Heritage in Tourism. BLENDED MOBILITY, promoted in the framework of the E-CUL-TOURS project.

In 2019, the volume Rossana Bonadei, Werner Gronau, Elizabeth Kastenholz and Albina Pashkevich (eds), E-Cul-Tours. Enhancing Networks in Heritage Tourism, Rome, TAB Edizioni, 2019, was published.
